Health Insurance Indiana

Health insurance, Indiana professionals suggest, is particularly important for families with young children, as they are forever getting ill and are more susceptible to contacting sickness as a result of their ever-growing immune systems. This is even more important if your children spend a great deal of time swimming and splashing around in water, as the content of E. coli in Indiana’s lakes and streams has been found to be a rather high percentage, which could result in many sicknesses occurring in the people that swim and especially drink the water while swimming, whether by accident or on purpose. E. coli is not only found in Indiana’s lakes, it is a universal bacteria, that is found in many lakes and rivers around the world, as are a great variety of other bacteria, algae, fungi, viruses and even protozoa, although many of these particles are naturally found in nature and do not pose any sort of threat on one’s health, say professionals from health insurance – Indiana companies in particular.

These same experts in health insurance, Indiana being their homes, say that the reason why E. coli is not a naturally occurring bacteria, is because it lives within the gastrointestinal tract of animals, and the bacteria is spread through these animals’ feces, often landing up in the water of streams and lakes as a result of the washing of the rain. Luckily for people who live in an area where the water is contaminated, all drinking water is treated before arriving in your homes, so sickness from normal drinking water will be cut out of the equation altogether. However, swimming in the lakes and streams that are polluted may cause an array of illnesses, because the individual who has been swimming in this contaminated water will be exposed to many different types of bacteria, protozoa and viruses, which are in fact known as pathogens or organisms that cause disease.

The people most prone to getting sick from swimming in these polluted lakes and streams are the elderly and young children, and anyone else who might have a weak immune system for whatever reason, that is why it is so important to get health insurance. Indiana may be only one of the places you know of with an E. coli concentration, but it is a guaranteed fact that most of the areas you visit will also have slightly contaminated water, so it is never a good idea to drink water from a stream or a lake. Some of the different types of infections or sicknesses that one might contract from swimming in these polluted waters are gastroenteritis, with nausea, stomach aches, vomiting, fevers, headaches and also diarrhea – as your body tries to expel these foreign toxins. Other less serious conditions are infections of the ear, nose, throat and eye. Some of the more serious afflictions are dysentery, cholera, hepatitis and even typhoid fever, the cost of treatment for these diseases will be greatly lessened if you have health insurance, Indiana experts say.
